Reflections. This morning I pulled out my Five Year Diary and looked back at years 1973 - 1979. Those were my formative years as a young adult. As I read my thoughts during that time I see the same thread that makes me who I am and probably will always be. The thread of hope.
Hope and Faith are the threads that keep us strong and moving forward.
I also have my high school year book.
"Dear Debbie I wish you only the best. I'm really going to miss you next year. Love Robbie (Downs)""To a sweet & dear friend, best of luck whatever you do. Pam (English)"
"The best of luck in any of your endeavors. Sharon (Feggans)"
"May you achieve to reach your goal and find happiness in whatever you do. (Laura Thompson)"
and many, many more.
I've always held onto letters and diaries because they help me gauge my growth. I am working on "Half Way There" my book I plan to publish on my 60th birthday. I am so grateful that I have the relationships that I have today. My life is stronger and more stable than ever before. I have God to thank for. Through him I met Rev. A. David Griffin, Rev. George E. Holland, Sr. and finally the love of my life, Willie Richard Smart, Jr.
I have endured so many negative relationships in my life. I thank God that I've come through not only with a healthy body and mind, but with a healthy spirit and thirst for life.
My life verse has changed over the years, but my lifetime goals remains the same.
"Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come." Proverbs 31:2-5
"Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace." Proverbs 3:17
What is your hope? What is your desire? Unless we know, we are like rudderless ships being tossed to and fro subject to the whim of the seas.
